For some reason I am very excited about setting up this blog. I can’t tell you why, I haven’t figured that out yet, but I know it’ s true because I haven’t been able to get it off my mind since I began setting it up a few days ago. It’s definitely a learning experience, and I’ve got a lot yet to learn, but I figure I have the time (here and there). As they say “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” {That’s what they say, isn’t it? I’ve been known for misquotes on occasion, some on purpose, some not!}. I want to give a very unsolicited plug to wordpress here. It has made setting up this site quite easy for a middle-aged computer novice, and I thank them for that.
Anyway, here I am and here is where I’ll stay, for a while anyway (ah – another quote, I think. Anyone know where that one comes from?). As I mention in my “about me” page. I have just recently entered the social media pool – or is it an ocean - and thanks to Alissa Gauger, my friend and a skilled life coach, I am not drowning! [I have to make another unsolicited plug here - Alissa is a truly a skilled coach. I have worked with her closely on a different level and have learned of her God-given gift. Beside, she a glass half full kind of girl - just my style!]. But what I have found in my media socializing so far is that twitter and facebook don’t give a verbose person such as myself enough room to put down all my thoughts. Then Voila! I am introduced to blogging by a stranger on a tweet.
As the header on my blog says, I’ll be talking about books, reading, writing, and generally things that come into my head. My subheading, “while trying not to take myself to seriously.” I think that’s one of those very important keys to life: don’t take yourself, or anyone else for that matter, too seriously. I don’t think life isn’t supposed to be too serious. If that weren’t the case, why would God have invented the mirror!
Until we meet again,
Christina
