Lantern Festival, Chiang Mai Thailand

Lantern Festival, Chiang Mai Thailand

Here is another Photobotos artist. This picture was taken in Thailand by Justin Ng.    In Thailand it is  the festival of Loi Krathong. I read about various meanings of this festival which is celebrated in many places but apparently the Chiang Mai festival is one the largest in Thailand. It is said that when the Khom loi – or floating decoration – is released, misfortune will fly away with the lantern. It is also thought to be a symbol of knowledge – the light guiding you on the right path. Whatever the meaning, it is quite spectacular and I’l love to see it in person.
